Amongst other ongoing projects Virescent manages the smooth running of mashup* – a monthly London based digital event attracting over 120 digital professionals at every event, and has managed the following recent events:
Being Social, Social Media ’09 (350 attendees for a fire hose of case studies), Being-Digital ’09/ ’08 (a 1 day conference attracting over 300 senior execs from the digital sector), OpenGov (1/2 day conference attracting over 150 senior government professionals). Virescent also managed the Intelligent Squared Green Festival (a 1 day consumer conference attracting over 500 people for a day of green talks/ stands in Jan 2009, and an on going series of lectures for Environmental Barrister, Polly Higgins, regarding the proposal of Universal Declaration of Planetary Rights to the UN and her This is Ecocide campaign and Twestival 2010
Virescent actively advises a number of startups including BeLocal, ideas.org, Sociable.net and MumsApps providing a valuable mix of innovative ideas, practical views and common sense experience.
Emma Jell, Founder of Virescent, has an acute digital and technical understanding having held a Telecoms engineering position (hardware & software) in the mid-90s as telecoms companies were shifting their focus to data and internet based traffic and applications. Since when she has worked with a number of Internet startups on product design and development, project management, marketing, technical support and customer services processes.
